Community Hall


1 All applications for hire should be made to the Hall Bookings Secretary and a Bookings Form completed.


2 The Hirer must be over 18 years of age.


3 If the time specified on the Bookings Form is exceeded a penalty charge could be incurred.


4 The Hall Committee reserves the right to cancel any booking.


5 Intoxicating liquor may not be sold on the premises unless prior approval has been obtained from the Licensing Authority.


6 A statutory licence should be obtained and observed in all cases where such a licence is required.(eg for music)


7 No gaming is allowed except in accordance with the conditions of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963.


8 Hirers should not make any alteration or addition to the heating system without further agreement with the Bookings Secretary or    Keyholder.


9 The Letting Charge should be paid within 7 days of receiving the invoice.


10 The Committee reserves the right to refuse to accept payment by cheque.


11 The Committee reserves the right to refuse access.


12 Lettings may not be sub-let or transferred to other bodies.


13 A charge may be made if a booking is cancelled with less than 7 days notice.


14 The Hirer shall indemnify the Committee against all actions, proceedings, claims and demands whatsoever which may arise as a result of the hiring.


15 The Hirer is responsible for risk assessments for their activity and should understand that the Committee cannot be held liable for any action relating to such activity. A template for risk assessments is included in the Hirer’s information pack.


16 The Hirer should leave the Hall and any equipment or furniture ‘as found’ and refer to the User Guide before leaving the building.


17 Prior agreement should be obtained if the Hirer’s own electrical equipment is to be used.


18 Any accidents involving damage should be reported to the Bookings Secretary as soon as possible. A charge may be made.


19 Any accident involving injury should be reported to the Bookings Secretary as soon as possible and an Accident Form completed. These forms are in the First Aid Box.


20 Hirers should adhere to CCT Policies on Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Child Protection and Equal Opportunities which are displayed in the Hall.


21 No animals or birds (except guide dogs) may be brought into the Hall.


22 The Hirer should ensure that their use of the building avoids inconvenience (eg noise) to nearby residential properties.




The Hirer must:

1 comply with Health and Safety Policy

2 ensure that the premises and equipment are left ‘as found’

3 be responsible for breakages, losses and damage etc

4 remove from the premises all rubbish and food waste immediately following the letting
